You don't need to set Trunkview up as it's not as easy as UniTrunker. Just use it to grab the voice channel ID's. Or run UniTrunker. UniTrunker is easier to setup the multiple ranges on the band plan so the LCN's are converted to frequencies correctly. Use the ranges that I posted earlier in the thread.

According to my calculations, 454.568750 is Ch 206, and Ch 213 is 454.656250
Anyway, you might care to try the attached PG&E Profile on TrunkView.
You just have to rename the extension to tvp, and place it in the Profile sub-folder of TrunkView.
The use of Profiles was mentioned earlier in this thread.

I was searching the Lake Tahoe area for these new UHF PG&E freqs
strange that i didnt find the 460 mhz freqs in my FCC/DB search, but the 450 mhz freqs did.
Ive been listening on and off to the Scout Pk site but nothing heard yet (15 miles from site?)
The Vaca and Reba sites below have the same freqs listed in new RR DB, but i dont know
anything about this system but im reading what you guys have come up with so far and i thought
i would post these even though you may be far ahead me.
And yes that 454 mhz stuff will be difficult, so i will be including that portion in my freq search on my Uniden.
To confirm will this system also have analog voice?
Right now (01:00AM 01/14/2013) im hearing what sounds like an LTR burst on 452.0000, will this system have bursts like LTR? if not then im hearing a LTR site off in the distance. The bursts are every 10 seconds.

Hey gvranchosbill, thanks for your interest in helping out on this system. If you go back to page 1 and the first post of this thread, you'll see I provided a link to a sound sample of an MPT-1327 control channel. MPT-1327 uses analog voice, and isn't supported by any scanner - but you can track the systems if you have a 2nd computer controllable scanner and use the Unitrunker or TrunkView programs. Those idle bursts you are hearing must be part of an unrelated LTR system.
The MPT-1327 control channel sounds very unique (and almost all of them use a 196.6 PL tone) so it should be very easy to spot if you come across one. If you'd like, try bandscanning between 450 MHz-455 MHz and also 460 MHz-465 MHz. If you happen to come across one of the control channels, you could try to DF it and post the results here. I think that would be the most helpful, since they are currently operating on an FCC waiver to use those 454 MHz "CP" licenses.

Well that CC Data Sample is unique and i havent yet heard that anywhere between 450 mhz & 470 mhz.
The Mt Reba Site is at a extremely high elevation and i hear or did hear PG&E Helicopters on
451.1500..WNWB702..167.9..Mt Reba mostly in the morning hours was when the signal was decent.
Their comms were about the reservoirs/dams along the western sierra foothills and up further this way, so i would bet that Mt reba does sound good in the SJ Valley.
Alpine S.O. has a VHF repeater on reba and its good one day and not the next.
UHF is funny up here, sometimes i can hear Martinez PD and LTR from SF Bay Area and i live east of Lake Tahoe.
Right now the temps have been in the 0 range and snow everywhere doing weird things with radio signals.
Reno Casinos with stand alone repeaters 55 miles away over mtns etc have been booming in here but over the mtn to the west has been degraded.
So until something changes i will continue to search around.
Scout Pk should be easy, but nothing yet heard.
NV Energy has the power Contract at tahoe & truckee areas but PG&E buts right up against them over here and VHF i have heard in the past but not lately so i will monitor and see what happens.
By the way there was a lot of Helicopter traffic on 158.1300/CSQ/Helicopter/Air Ground this summer and it sounded like PG&E or other Line crew erecting poles or towers somewhere near here and could had been radio tower or pole const, i dont know because i could not hear the ground crews that well.

what does call clear down mean? Return to control channel 94, does this mean this tower release control to site 94?

The "Call clear-down" message indicates the Voice Call is finished, and to return the radio units to monitoring the Control Channel.

|
Channel 94 is the Control Channel of that Site.(452.1750 MHz ?)
If you have set up TrunkView with a single PC controllable scanner, then on a "Go To Channel - Voice" message, TrunkView will direct the scanner to change to the frequency specified in that message (ie., 454.48125 MHz in this case). The "call clear-down" message in broadcast over the Voice Channel, and upon receipt of that message, TrunkView will direct the scanner to return to the Control Channel frequency.
If TrunkView is set up correctly, on changing to the Voice Channel, the PCs speakers will be un-muted, so the conversation can be heard through the PCs speakers. On completion of the Voice Call, the speakers will again be muted.
If you use two scanners, then TrunkView never receives the "Call clear-down" message, and will leave the second scanner on the Voice Call frequency, until such time as it receives another "Go To Channel - Voice" message.
Hope this answers you questions.

Hi Fwuffy,
That's some great info on the licenses, but unfortunately the scanner you're using is displaying 12.5 KHz frequency steps. These frequencies actually use 6.25 KHz steps in the 454 MHz range (ex: 454.48125 MHz). Do you have a scanner that supports that narrower resolution by any chance?

OK, a bit confusing. You have 454.48125 MHz shown as the CC, as well as for the GoTo Voice channel, and while I am aware of Motorola's VOC (Voice On Control), and EDAC's version, SCAT, I am not aware of any such feature available for MPT1327.
So, what frequency were you monitoring when you logged Site 54B9 activity. Likewise, what frequency were you monitoring when you logged Site 5A39 activity.
In the above log, Ch: 199 is the frequency the scanner is sent to for you to hear the conversation. The Clear-Down message is also sent over the Voice channel which is why the frequency is also shown against the Clear-Down message.
Can you make a copy of your sites.xml file, and rename it sites.txt, and post it here.

They are still rolling out the system, so there is probably not many users on it yet.

454.09375 is site 53A9, im am in the process of logging a site a day on trunkview and unitrunker, now that i have a bandplan, 454.48125 is what i was monitoring for site 54B9, i do the most complete parameters i can per software, so in the 454. range i found 451.99753 as base channel in trunkview makes the freqs logged match the correct channel assingment. ive been at this for only couple weeks, still fairly new at this, but i have yet to have the call clear down appear on any other site. site 54B9 was ran for a period of about 18 hours. had very little traffic, but did log 15 groups and 143 for one channel. Im running a GRE 600 scanner, so there is no control between trunkview and the scanner, it is parked on the control channel only.

Then I wouldn't be too concerned about Clear-down messages, or lack of Goto Voice messages, until such time as the network has settled down.

That was my screw-up in my original post. I'll fix it.

Download a program like 7Zip. This will allow you to ZIP and make it way smaller. Use the ZIP format and not 7z as the board only supports ZIP.
I'm confused also. I agree with you that you're hearing Ch199 on 54B9 but why it's shown as a voice channel and a clear-to-return to Ch94 is really weird, like you had interference from two different sites. There is a site on "Sunset Hill" with a license of WQNY907 for 452.1750. Can you tune that one in?
The raw data logs you sent me have 54B9 in them so I'll look them over.
