The woman in the YouTube video does not appear to be a subject matter expert and should go back to watching Oprah.
On the other hand, Radio Shack is dumping CB and other radio equipment from most of the stores.

Most of them are probably modified illegally so they are probably dumping them to save themselves from getting a nice nasty little letter from the FCC

I doubt that. RS has too much to lose. It would be cheaper to destroy modified radios.

I think we should create a new thread to let this thread that was originally intended for the CBs going instinct, anyone agree? lets just put one in the general area or wherever it seems suitable so this thread can die out... but hey this is fun to discuss about movies and these radios/scanners they use lol
It was a Cobra 2010 base cb.

It has become allot cheaper and easier now to get ones HAM operators license that there just isn't the same demand for CB's, come on the CB is so 70's and is just set to go the way of the vinyl records, 8-track tapes, VCR's etc. They are being replaced by newer and better technology, not being taken away...

The CB will never die off completely. As a matter of fact. There are more and more CB's starting to pop up everywhere now. I'm starting to see more vehicles with CB Antennas on them now more than ever. CB sales are going up. It may not be that way in some parts of the country. But here in the mid-west is another story. So. To make more simple. The CB will never die.

I agree there, CB"s aren't going anywhere. It may change as it has in the past but it's not leaving us.

That scene would be Jo and Bill arguing over her being obsessed up on the hill, when the second Dorothy gets destroyed, when it and the tail gate are knocked off of Bill's truck by a utility pole.

Also the scene where Bill realizes he still has feelings for Jo,

Bill :"You gotta stop living in the past.....look at what you got right in front of ya"

Jo: "What are you saying?"

Bill: "Me Jo"

The particular shot with the CB would be of Bouncer's van, I believe the CB is a Cobra 29 LTD Classic.

Link to the scene on youtube, the shot with the CB is around 0:10 - 0:13.
