Question K40 Antenna.

How many of you out there have a K40 Antenna on your Radio? I have one and have used mine for well over 15 years. It has been the best CB Antenna ever.

Ive used a K-40 on one of my vehicles for years and havent had any problems. They are a good antenna.
I have found that a Wilson 1000 seems to work a little it better than the K40 on my tests tho.

I use the K-40 on one vehicle cause its easier to do the 1/4 turn twist on/off for my car that parks in the garage, where the Wilson 1000 needs to be unscrewed and takes longer to do.

Had several over the years, all replaced by W1000s and Hustler HQ-27s. I gave away the last K40 last year to a person I don't particularly like....I even paid shipping to CA just to pass it on to the right person.

For some reason; I only used one K40 in my lifetime and it was quite comparable to the 102" steel whip. It "walked the dog and kicked the cats" It was likely the price of them I guess.

I have the lip mount and used it on my old car quite often. Now I have an suv and can't lip mount it on the tailgate...the car behind me would get their eyeball poked out !!! I also have an RS mag mount if I wanna take my cb out for a joy ride.

Default k40

Have the Mag mount on. One good Antenna. Radio Shack had a good one about 15 or so years ago which was like the k40. but like all good things radio shack has, gets discontinued.
