Thank you for the link alvine, mine was also a cartridge problem.
I soldered in a RS cartridge which work for a few years, then it too dislodged. Trying a second RS cartridge was two much soldering on the printed board. The board is used for mike modulation control so I suspect the board could be bypassed and connect the cartridge directly to the proper input pins without modulation control.
Kind of quit using CB 13 - 14 years ago. I may contact your man anyway, thanks again.
Edit: While traveling through curvy mountainous roads in WV, I had the radio in All Scan. A couple of clowns in different pickups were trying to get around my motorhome. The first finally passed me across double yellow lines, then advised the other when he thought it was safe for him to do the same. In both cases, I was required to hit my brakes so the passer could get back in to avoid a head on with oncoming traffic. They were on some odd ball channel but due to scanning I was able to hear them well before they got near me. So I waited until the second near miss then transmitted my thoughts regarding how they both nearly got 4 vehicles in trouble. On of them whined and said to the other "go to alternate". I hit scan All, picked up and held the first transmission and replied to it before the second driver could reply.
