It depends if you're looking for songs entirely about CB radio, or perhaps have a line or two in the lyrics. Summer by War has the lyrics ".. talking on the CB radio in the van ..."

"Put the Hammer Down"
I have a record, LP, vinyl, etc from Radio Shack with numerous titles. Here for your nostalgic recollection, are the titles and artists. Copyrights were mostly '75 and '76.
Side One:
Movin' On - Merle Haggard
Long, Lonesome Highway - Dick Curless
I'm a Truck - Red Simpson
Convoy - the "original" - C.W. McCall
Phantom 309 - Red Sovine
Side Two:
Whiteline Fever - Merle Haggard
Tombstone Every Mile - Dick Curless
Nitro Express - Red Simpson
The White Knight - Cledus Maggard & The Citizens Band ( I didn't make it up)
A Place In The Sun - Glen Campbell
This was on the Realistic label. It was manufactured by the special markets division of Capitol Records.
It was in the 1977 RS catalog page38. http://www.radioshackcatalogs.com/catalogs/1977/

And to think I was into CB a little, worked at RadioShack AND was involved in an FM station back then.
(yes, some of those songs actually got some airplay.)

If you just want the record recorded, that is easy to do for someone with a turntable and computer. I could do it for ya, but I am in California. I doubt the music industry will produce it on a CD or downloadable files, they're too busy suing people and trying to get a new tax on radio stations.

Ah yes...the good ole days of borrowing our friends albums to tape it onto a cassette so we didn't have to buy the albums ! Today, this oughta do the trick ION TTUSB05 USB Turntable and Vinyl Archiver - RadioShack.com
That also reminds me of when we would hook up two VCRs to dub movies...and you KNOW which "movies" I'm talkin' 'bout !!!

What an interesting catalog! I liked looking at those ancient scanners on page 136 as well. Mobile ones had a whopping 4 channels that are set using crystals, and in 1977 dollars they cost as nearly as much as state of the art does today. And everything looked so cheesy!

Dave Dudley came out with a good one, "Me and Ole C.B."
It's on his Trucker Classics CD.

What about "I'll CBing You"?
You know...
Quote:
I'll CBing you in all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces all day through
In that small cafe, the park across the way
The children's carousel, the chestnut trees, the wishing well
I'll CBing you in every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the mornin' sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll CBing you
------ instrumental break ------
I'll find you in the mornin' sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll CBing you
|
...
Oh no, wait a minute...
That's not right...
