Huge Knobs, that got my attention. By a basic radio, if she likes it she can upgrade. If she decides she doesn't like radios, you can upgrade, ha ha. Nice RoadTalker.

Sorry guys, been tied down with work n the holidays
I ended up getting her n I phone 5 for Christmas instead of the CB , but she still wants one!
For talking local………to me …….n her dad. (who says he’d get 1 too)!
I am thinkin of going the cheaper route in case she ends up not liking it. BUT not too cheap as to the point that she won’t be able to talk/reach me!
Merry Christmas guys
Ozzy

My first knee-jerk reaction was a Cobra 75 and a magnetic antenna...the Cobra 75 is compact for the small car, and the magnetic is easily removed when she changes her mind.
I was lookin at the 75, with a litto wil;..? Any used this 75?

I will probably get grilled by the professionals but I have not had good luck with the HH-38 CB Handheld. I have had 2 and both were poor performers. I went with the cheapie Midland 75-785 and for a basic no scan radio it works well FOR WHAT IT IS.. So far as a mobile unit for your sweetie. I would recommend a Uniden 500 series, I am familiar with the 510 and 520 and they work GREAT! Outstanding receiver and transmitts well. Next would be a midland 1001 series or Cobra 19. I have had a couple of the 19DXIII s from Walmart and they were ok but I always had modulation problems. I have one now and its OK, I have a Uniden 520 and its outstanding! Unless you have room and she wants a bunch of knobs to play with I would not worry about getting a Cobra 25 or 29. Now I have heard the cobra 18RV model is junk!

So far as an antenna the longer whip length the more efficient The signal range is.. The 36 inch Little Wil vs the 54 inch Wilson 500 vs the 62-68 inch Wilson 1000 is better the longer the whip. The 14 gauge, 12 gauge, 10 gauge is nice for power rating but probably will not give you 100 ft more in range!

Good luck and have fun with your CBs

Or even the RS 102 inch CB whip antenna, but it is really tall for a mobile antenna. Unless you bend it down and attach it to something.

I had a RS 102 whip on a spring mount on my ol F150 in the 80's n had to keep it attached to the roofs rain gutter rail, or it be smacking every tree I'd drive under...
+ on a Toyota corolla that wouldn't look right!

Used the lil Wilson as my second antenna since the wallyworld one I had was junk. Worked great for a small antenna but I'd suggest either the Wilson 1000 or k40 trunk mount antenna

Sent from my iPhone yes iPhone using Tapatalk app thingy

I would get the Wilson 1000 mag mount center of roof will have good range for a mobile. And I would stay away from all of the RS CB products. Unidens and Cobras not bad.

Cause in my experience females aren’t into radio/CB!
N it was out of left field. as she had never talked about radio/CB!
I think it’s cool that she’s shown interest
