Default 820.0500

I picked up a PRO-160 the other day, but am just now getting around to putting it thru its paces. Seems to be a nice radio.

Anyway, I'm setting here doing a general search thru the different bands, and found a transmission at 820.0500. It sounds like it could be some sort of transportation company, but not 100% sure. Sounds like they're talking about I-55 being wide open. Could be a freq for a trunking system, as there seems to be a diversity of conversations going on.

Could not find any information on this freq in the database. Does anyone have any info on this?

Many thanks in advance.

SSSG

I would listen to the output of 865.050 and see if you hear anything.

Default Image?

While 820.050 would be the input freq for a repeater on 865.050 (if there was one) I'm leaning more toward the possibility that he could be hearing an image of another freq - especially if it sounds like he's listening to repeater output traffic vs. just input traffic (mobiles and base remotes with primarily one-sided traffic). AFAIK the freq allocations in the 854.0125 - 865.9875 portion of the 800 MHz band are every 25 kHz (.0125, .0375, .0625, .0875). Might try using a different radio tuned to 820.050 to test my theory - with the same antenna that you're using on the '160.
