South Metro working a 2 alarm fire at a hotel on Arapahoe road. I missed the location. First due reporting heavy smoke from roof, also asking for immediate 2 alarm. So far all ops on Metcom ops 5

U/D arriving units advising evac in process.
0456 U/D Crews confirming fire on 4th floor. Evac continues with help from GVPD

U/D Command asking for 2 (two) RTD buses for evac victims. Sounds like fire is in roofing supplies on roof, crews checking for extension into building.

Jim to the rescue. Thanks Jim..no idea why I am up this early.

U/D Fire under control. Both ops 5 and ops 7 being used. RTD sending 2 busses for aprox 80 people. Red cross also being paged. Asking for a sand truck from Greenwood public works.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- A fire broke out at the La Quinta Inn and Suites near Interstate 25 and Arapahoe Road around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Fire officials say the fire broke out on the roof of the building.

All of the hotel guests were evacauted safely. Fire officials say some of the guests are being treated for smoke inhalation. Many of the evacuated residents are being housed at nearby hotels.

Sounds to me like Greenwood/SouthMetro might have a fire bug going around. Two 2 alarm fires in less then 2 weeks. That's a big Coincidence..
