Hunter wandered into a different hunting camp just about the same time the page went out to the SAR team.
The kind of search I liked when I was on the team.

Been a small outbreak of lost folks during the last week in the mountains. The common denominator I see is the bad weather we have had recently. People ran into low clouds, fog, sustained heavy rain, sleet, snow. They get slowed down by the weather, lose their references, and suddenly it gets dark and they are lost.

Amazing that many were not prepared at all. I do a lot of remote wilderness hiking and no matter the time of year I haul around 15 pounds of extra gear for emergencies. Never leave the car without it; multiple GPS's, topos, compass, fire start, flashlights, extra batteries, water purification, bad wx gear, hand gun, etc. Can't imagine heading out without gear or not knowing how to properly use your navigation tools.

It sounds like you were into SAR at one time though and the lack of preparedness is no surprise to you! You probably have some great stories as well.
