FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Date: 11-06-09 Time: 4:55 PM

On 11-06-09 at approximately 1:10 PM Colorado State Patrol troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident on northbound Colorado 25 milepost 266 in Larimer County.

A white 1991 Ford Econoline van was northbound on Colorado 25 at milepost 266. A red 2001 Kenworth tractor-trailer was also northbound on Colorado 25. The Kenworth slowed for traffic when the Ford impacted the rear of the Kenworth.

The unrestrained male driver of the Ford has been identified as Dale T. Walter, 51 of Loveland, CO. Walter sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the Medical Center of the Rockies..

The restrained male driver of the Kenworth has been identified as Joseph N. Roper, 54 of Fort Lupton, CO. Roper was not injured.

Alcohol/drugs are not suspected of being contributing factors.

Next of kin HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.
