Hearing reports of a ongoing fire in RMNP, unknown size, unknown location. LCSO has units inbound, Estes Park fire I believe. Just catching bits and pieces down here in Denver. Anyone closer that can confirm? Also heard a medical helo talking about a TFR area soon to be announced due to incoming aircraft.

All action so far on Talk group 5 (4040)

RMNP Wildfire

The original call of smoke in the area went out around 1210 with tones for Glen Haven Fire, then went to RMNP fire with m/a from Glen Haven and Estes Park Fire.
Most of their traffic can be still heard on their VHF fire channel 159.405

Air Attack and 3 SEATS in area now doing drops, on 127.325 am.
As mentioned above lots of traffic on ROMO (RMNP east)
Sorry this is a late post couldn't break away to post.

updates as I hear them

Cow Creek Incident

This is being called the "Cow Creek Incident"
Things are pretty quite now, but lots of resources ordered for tomorrow.
a hotshot crew, fixed wing aircraft, rotary wing aircraft.
the hotshot crew is being requested at 0600.

the 169.175 freq is for the Roosevelt Nat'l Forest, with lots of coordination /communications with Ft. Collins dispatch.

smokejumpers were dropped in earlier by "Jumper 97" not tanker 97.

Tomorrow (Friday) should be interesting as the predicted high temperature is in the mid 90's for the front range so that should put it near 80 for the area of this incident. Expect lots of manpower to be "thrown" at this early in the day.

updates/freqs as I hear them.
