A passenger from a vehicle struck head-on on I-25 this morning has died from injuries sustained in the crash. Jane Smith, 58, from Boone, NC, was airlifted to Medical Center of the Rockies where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Smith was a passenger in a silver, Chevy Cobalt that was traveling southbound on I-25, when a gold Kia, Spectra crossed the center media and struck the Cobalt head-on. The driver of the Cobalt was Barry Smith, 58, also from Boone, NC and was also airlifted to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries.
The driver of the Kia, Jordan Trujillo, 20, from Longmont, CO was transported via ambulance to Longmont United Hospital with moderate injuries. Trujillo’s passenger, Jennifer Daigle, 20, also of Longmont was taken via ambulance with serious injuries.
The driver of the Geo Metro was 40-year-old Neil Bouvart from Lakewood. Bouvart did not sustain any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this hour.
