Saw your page first, then saw some breaking news on CBS4, something about some armed suspects on the loose and dogs tracking. Just heard on the Boulder feed about a helicopter being used to help.

Hello everyone. So I was up there yesterday and during the course of the evening there was an attempt to move all the field comms from Boulder SO Black (their SWAT's VHF simplex freq) to a VTAC channel which I'll keep under my hat as ops continue today. This seemed to be only moderately successful as officers kept coming back up on Black stating VTAC was "digital" meaning, in their vernacular, the transmissions were unreadible. DTRS was pretty useless in that immediate area as well.

As problems continued, it only took about 30 minutes for their comm van to patch the two freqs together rendering the stealthy VTAC comms rather un-stealthy.

Looks like VHF is still the way to go in areas like that.

Didn't hear any encrypted traffic from Longmont P.D. or anyone else up there. It was probably them gearing up in town before heading up the hill.

$300,000 worth of pot! Some drug dealer somewhere is unhappy...

Ta!

Just wrapped up another trip up there today. A second larger, very sophisticated, multi-year old grow operation containing an additional 4500 plants was discovered a mile from the original find. Estimated value of the total discovery thus far is $1.1 million.

Should see some cool pics and vid tommorow as two National Guard Blackhawks will be extracting the plants and airlifting them to waiting dump trucks on the Peak-to-Peak highway.

Then, the county will process, package and sell the pot to the public to augment it's tax revenue. (No. Not really...)

Ta!
