Shortly before 2100hrs thursday night, Kremmling Police attempted a stop on a vehicle which then fled EB on Hwy 40. KPD pursued. The vehicle hit spike sticks in Hot Sulphur Springs and stopped just east of town. The female driver then opened fire on Kremmling and possibly Granby officers as well as Grand Co, deputies and a CSP Trooper. The Trooper's vehicle was damaged by the gunfire, but no one was hurt.
After using tear gas and some less-lethal rounds, the injured driver was taken into custody after a short standoff and transported via ground ambulance to Denver via Granby Medical Center.
Highway 40 is still closed between Granby and HSS as of this writing and it appears will be well into Friday morning.
