More Evacs Ordered

Canyon Boulevard on the south to High Street on the north from the fire location on the west to 7th Street on the east. Evacuation areas within the canyon: Canon Park Subdivision, base of Boulder Canyon
Mouth of Sunshine Canyon up to Poorman Road.

Boulder fire update: Boulder Community Hospital Mapleton and Maxwell facilities are being evacuated. No patients should come to either out patient facility. Boulder Community Hospital is open.

Fire crews are working on a back burn operation that authorities say will result in significant power outages from 28th Street to Nederland and from Baseline Road to Iris Avenue in the city, and from Allenspark to Coal Creek in the mountains. It's expected to last until around 4 p.m.

Still 134 acres. 2 air-tankers have made 20-25 drops. 160 firefighters are on scene, concentrating on structure protection. Evacuations are still in place but Hwy-119 has been reopened.

I was assigned to the fire yesturday (structure protection). Crews had made great progress on the fireline overnight & getting most of the fire contained. The weather was also very helpful in preventing any additional fire spread. Some areas were re-opened to homeowners... Hiking trails in the fire area are still closed. Looks like we've got this one pretty well knocked out : )
