Update from CSP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Date: February 5, 2011 Time: 5:15 p.m.

Troopers have determined that a Nissan was traveling northbound on Highway 93 when the driver lost control. The Nissan spun into the path of a Chevrolet Equinox traveling southbound. The Equinox struck the passenger side of the Nissan.

Both the driver and a rear passenger in the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene. A third occupant has been transported to St. Anthony hospital; that individual’s condition is unknown.

Both occupants in the Chevrolet were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

While the crash remains under investigation, troopers believe that the weather and the driver traveling too fast for the conditions may have played a role.

Families of those involved have not been notified therefore no names are being released at this time.
