Default Military Transport Aircraft over Denver : Gear Problem

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9800; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.600 Mobile Safari/534.8+)

For all of you skilled in monitoring Military Air Freqs: The consolidated media helicopter caught images of an Air Force C-5 with obvious landing gear problems flying over the Denver metro area shortly after 1700 hours. Could not make out tail markings to see where it's from. It was last seen headed south, maybe towards Peterson. No word on it's status as of this writing. Thanks in advance for your assistance if there is anything to monitor.

Oops. Meant to put this in Incidents and Breaking News. Perhaps if a moderator could relocate it...

Thanks.

I don't know. AF Public Affairs is mum so far. Hoping we can pick up news here with monitoring. Thank you very much for moving it!

Thumbs down

The C-5 Galaxy is known for Main Landing Gear (MLG) problems.
This looks like a "hung gear", in order for it to retract is has to rotate 90 degrees from its current position
then up into the gear well.

I would suspect wherever it went that they put "all" the landing gear in the "down position" ( this can be done manually) and made a landing that way.

Hopefully it is a safe landing and we can find out more information.
