Lightbulb Northglenn 2nd alarm, as paged

Irma drive North Metro and Thornton and Fed Heights and Westy, heavy fire showing from a 2nd floor unit of a MFD.

Northglenn 2nd Alarm Apartment | 5280FIRE

12/19 ~ At 08:55 North Metro & Thornton Firefighters were alerted to a possible structure fire at 10500 Irma Drive, Building #19 of the Regatta Apartments. First due Engine 63 arrived to a 2-story multiple family residential structure with heavy flames showing from the 2nd floor Bravo side. Crews laid in and pulled a line for offensive fire attack and asked for major incident tone. Arriving crews placed multiple lines in operation for both interior and exterior attack. As heavy fire compromised the roof, command called for an evacuation tone at 09:22 and crews moved into a defensive fire attack. Truck 62 initiated a master stream as defensive aerial operations commenced. A 2nd Alarm was requested at 09:33 for more man power from Westminster & Federal Heights. Once the main body of fire was knocked crews went back into offensive fire ops. Firefighters battled the fire along with the cold windy and snowy conditions and spent several hours on hotspots and overhaul. The Red Cross was called to the scene as multiple families were displaced. The building had been evacuated and all searches proved negative. The fire is under investigation and there were no reports of any injuries.
