DENVER - A 17-year-old Hispanic youth wanted for murder gave himself up Friday after a standoff with police.
Denver Police say the boy broke into his mother's home at 1119 West 12th in Denver around noon Friday.
She ran out and contacted an officer in the neighborhood.
Believing the teen might have a gun, SWAT officers arrived and cordoned off the area and negotiated with him.
The teen surrendered to police around 2 p.m.
Officials are not saying what the murder warrant was about or releasing any details about the teen is a juvenile.
No one was hurt in the standoff.
"This is the type of ending we all hope for," said Det. Virginia Quinones with the Denver Police Department.
