Three people were injured in a collision early Friday involving a car and a truck pulling a trailer in southeastern Weld County.

The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. Friday at mile-marker 55 on Interstate
76. The location is 11 miles west of Wiggins.

Colorado State Patrol reports stated only that the injuries in the crash were not life-threatening. Only two of the injured people were identified early Friday.

Driver Ray Kirk, 21, of Arvada and passenger Lindsay Belfor, 18, Lakewood, along with the third unidentified passenger were all taken to the Greeley hospital either by ground ambulance or AirLife helicopter.

The people in the other vehicles, Richard Nemeth, 55, and Brenda Nemeth, 49,
both of Potterville, Mich., were not injured.

Troopers said Kirk was driving a Mitsubishi car westbound on the highway when he struck the trailer being towed by the Nemeth pickup. The trailer jackknifed, detached from the pickup and rolled on its top in the median.

Kirk’s car came to a stop on the highway, and the pickup stopped in the
median.

Firefighters from Wiggins and Fort Morgan responded to the crash. The westbound highway was closed for about an hour.

Conditions of the patients could not be released by the hospital.
