Unhappy L.A.'s skies on horizon for Denver's Amelia Earhart

What a loss!!

Amelia Earhart isn't lost at sea. She's leaving the skies of Denver to do helicopter reporting in Los Angeles — the Valhalla of bird watching. April 30 is her last day in the Denver skies. She'll soon debut in L.A. on a big station — she can't say which one — but her boss will be Angel City Air.

Such a beautiful girl. Maybe I'll have to start caring about traffic in LA!

This may be the beginning of a trend at KUSA. Paula Woodward announced this week she is leaving after 32 years with the station.

There are very very few people left there from the days when more people watched channel 9 than all the other stations combined at 10PM. They are bringing back a retired transmitter engineer to turn off the analog signal tonight. He spent many years on the hill baby sitting the transmitter before it was automated and his job eliminated. They transferred the engineers, mostly to operating ENG trucks.
The departures of Paula and Ward Lucas on their own terms is extremely admirable.
For those who are left, I hope it is a new beginning but my experience tells me it will be but never the same moldy, misty, past that will always be fondly remembered.

She didn't do too bad.

Check out Dale Earnhardt Jr.

I think the pilot used a derated thrust though.

I think they meant that date for Paula Woodward! She's full of "special putty"..probably why she's quitting

Dave Lougee is at work from his spiffy office in Washington. Need to bring back Ogden, Walker or even Flanagan's ghost.

She will need city maps all over her walls in L.A. like she did in Boulder.

Or John C Mullins.
Roger is the best assignment editor/news director/ station manager I ever worked for. Then again, he gave me my first full time news job after ten years of freelance.
