Post Scanning Colorado

Hello Everyone,
Just found you again after my old computer crashed. Question for anyone willing to answer, I'm looking for new scanner to monitor Denver, Westminster, Broomfield, Adams & Jeffco, if you could recommend the best overall hand-held scanner, which one would you purchase. I've been monitoring since the early 80's but have been out of the loop for several years. Thanks for any help you can give me. Currently have BC-2500 w/cellular, Pro- 94, Pro-38 and a BC-148XLT.
Thanks Again, Gabe
Sorry everyone wrong forum! Don't know how to change it...

For general Colo forum, go back one level to
Colorado Radio Discussion Forum - The RadioReference.com Forums
FWIW I use a RS PRO-96 (now 4 years old) for the agencies mentioned

Reed how does your Pro-96 still monitor Denver since ESK has been turned on a year ago? And for Broomfield, Adams you will benefit from a scanner than can cover 700MHz control channels.

Mods: I would recommend moving this thread from breaking news forum.

Pro-106/197, PSR-500/600, Uniden 396/996 would all be good choices for monitoring the metro area.

Gabe, I don't post much but I saw your message. If you are serious about getting set up fast go see Erik at Radio Shack on the 16th street mall. You can ride the train there and its only a few steps from there to RS. Erik has helped me countless times. It took me a lot of trips to other Radio Shacks from Colorado to California to learn that he is one of the few out there that knows what he is doing and is always willing to share his knowledge.I own both a 96 and a pro 106 and both work great but I like my 106 better. For your purpose its a no brainer. Get the pro 106 from Erik. Hope this helps you.
