Another good reason to read the Owner's Manual and other stuff that comes with the car when you buy it.

(I'm one of the 1 in ten thousand who does. My valet key resides in the gun safe.)

If you have a '73 Cuda, i'm jealous. I believe most of the newer cars have the valet key, i know my Dodge Dakota had one, Subaru Outback, and now my Ram has one. When i read the above mention article they said that the Lexus was the top stolen vehicle, that a high valued car.

Did you Unimog even have keys? I thought it was issued with a screwdriver and wire cutters?

Oh yeah, all my vehicles have valet keys, except the Rolls Royce. Been meaning to have one made... Jeeves, my butler will get right on it...

My commute to Boulder and scanner meeting car has 358500 miles on it this week. I don't think I have anything to worry about.

Are people really stupid enough to leave the valet key in the glove box?

Never mind.

Now, now. You're just jealous. It had a key to the cab door. It had a key for the ignition (looked more like a spike actually), it had keys to the padlocks on the equipment boxes and it had a giant haunted house type key for the cargo box door lock. Oh and the battery switch key.

Very hard to steal if you don't know a 'mog in advance. And only capable of a slow-speed getaway chase.
And it'll be heard long before it gets to the roadblock. It would lose in a bicycle pursuit.

Unless the pursuit was uphill on a 8% grade.

You don't know unimogs do you?

Well, maybe 8% is ok. But I've been passed by an old man on a bicycle while going uphill on a 4% grade (I think).

Know why squirrels love Unimogs?
Because they can dash out into the middle of the road, stop, change their mind, and run back in plenty of time.
