Default DIA feed - another change

I have decided to dump the "Ops" channels and add the "Emergency Response Team" channel to make this a purely Public Safety feed.

At the same time I changed the lineup, I also added:
  • Metro Net
  • Gold 1
  • Gold 2
  • Blue NE
  • Red NE
  • Stargate 1
I wasn't sure if these "links" actually existed on the DIA system, but I have heard traffic on there from Blue NE.

Default Just a thought on Network First Groups

I'm not totally sure those links are full time on the DIA system however are you sure you want the potential of a chatty Cathy boring surveillance TF op tying up your feed while a major incident is in progress at the airport?

The links are on 24/7. I'd keep the Red channels and thats about it. Just like Phil said. I'd hate to be hearing chatty officers when I'm trying to monitor the airport. And I think the Ops channel has a lot of info to give when something good is happening!

We do have a full slate of "color" and Stargate interop TGs but rarely use them. I know I haven't, except for testing, since we got them.

Is it available? Yes. It is in the mutual aid list with the color TGs. Is it monitored at DIA? No. It may be on one of the dispatch console lists, but they usually monitor dispatch 5 only.
That's from the police side. Don't know what DFD does, but since they're technically dispatched from the city, I suspect they're the same. EMS continues to have a separate TG that's monitored by the city.

Well I could have sworn that I always saw it pop up on etrunk while monitoring the system, but last night I was looking @ it, and metro came up on another sytem, but nothing on the DIA system, just the Blue net.

OK - I can dump Blue NE.

IMO - Ops channels tend to take up the most airtime, hence their deletion. If something is going on that warrants monitoring them, its easy enough to turn them back on...

Well, maybe I'm a little (OK, a lot) late throwing .02c worth in, but I think the Ops and fire TGs are the most interesting with medic a close 3rd. The cops are boring, with 90% of the traffic about curbside or lost bags.

Maybe I'll put up a poll here on the CO forum and see what feedback we get. If most want Ops back, I'll unlock it.
