That is great news! Thanks for the update! I have been excited! I will never forget some radio traffic that kinda cracked me up when they had the pursuit last year that ended on east hwy 66 and one Sgt wanted them to use channel 2 and the other freaked out because it wasn't a repeater channel and they would not be able to "reach longmont". I think with the terrain it should work well in town, and I will be able to pick them up a little better when I am at work in Loveland. They are really going to miss all the mutual aid they get from BSO, unless they have a patch or something accessable to the Sheriffs units that work around here. I don't think they will miss walking on each other and the constant "multiple unit" traffic that seems to happen especially on the police channel. So I guess the transition will be good and bad in many ways. Now i just need to get the 996xt so I can enjoy the fire tone out feature!!

I noticed yesterday they were having major problems on the Conv. system for the Fire Dispatch and had to use tac 2 for a long time. I have been monitoring the Sunset Tower with wildcards and thats just obnoxious because of all the traffic I am getting from weld. I never heard any testing for Longmont. But CSP 6C comes in great on that one, I noticed. I was on LEU for a while and it was pretty strange getting dispatched by county. It was confusing for some to go enroute on two different channels. I look forward to getting the TGs programed. I hope that they have more TG for the fire dept. Its really neat how they do that in Loveland, and when they dispatch they assign a TG for each specific incident.
Will there be a conv patch for the other agencies in the county that work with longmont that don't have DTRS? This is going to affect a lot of people, the more I think about it.
it is my undertanding that with a 996xt, the fire tone out feature only works on Conv. systems. Is this true? If so I prob wont invest in one as soon as I planned. I just want to see the text display as the tones come out. Would this be possible on trunked systems?
Also, are the freq. for school security listed in the RR database? I have not found them yet.
Thanks

Noticed the audio on the PD main was way low from radios in the field yesterday morning. Almost sounded like one of the voters was offline or they were on a secondary repeater.
For trying to locate Longmont on DTR setup a scanlist with talkgroups 9100 thru 9149 as opposed to the wildcard. This is the block currently assigned to the Boulder County area. Mountain View Fire has been showing up on 9111 and 9113 on a semi-regular basis. For now it appears that Sunset is configured to accept pretty much any affiliation requests to exercise the site. When Longmont makes the switch they may restrict some distant talkgroups.
On VHF to DTR patches. Currently BLUE N.W. 158.805 and RED N.W. 155.250 (both narrowband) are active. Any new arrangements will eventually show up.
On fire tone out. Only on conventional.
In all this has anyone established if LFD will continue to use VHF for station, ambulance LEU tone paging?

Phil logged some more Boulder County radios today 9522, 9523, 9524, 9525 and 9526 a little outside the 9100-9120 range we have previously monitored.

Thanks Jim. Time to add that range to the scanlist block as well. Interesting when Longmont fire was tinkering with DTR radios a year or so back they were showing up in the 9100's.
So potential talkgroup blocks are now 9100 to 9149 and let's say 9500 to 9549.

No, the 800Mhz control channel contains the control information for the 700Mhz table as well.

Two possibilities for Mead.
None of the Longmont Groups are affiliated with Mead at the moment.
OR
Longmont groups are exclusive to the 700 voice channels on the Mead site. (This can be verified with pro96com). Mead does not have a 700 CC but does direct certain groups to the 700 voice channels on that site.
