Anyone noticing not hearing the actual units when talking to dispatch? You can only hear dispatch and not the units.

Maybe the units using 151.1150 127.3 (Douglas County Fire Dept., input is 159.00 127.3) are not being simulcasted w/TG 1053.

How are you monitoring them? Thanks in advance.

VHF is just used for station alerting and paging purposes I believe.

Listening to the online feed currently and both mobile and dispatch sound perfect.

I monitoring them just off the 151.115 off of a hand held scanner. I don't get to hear the general attn tone just the second tone then the dispatch and I don't hear the units like E151 and such.

Correct believe all the en route, onscene update etc traffic from the units is on DTRS.

Might want to compare what your hearing on VHF to the online feed(s) sometime think you'll notice a big difference.

151.115r 146.2

They are using 146.2 with dispatching on 151.115 today. Dispatch is simulcast on TG 1053 where the units also are heard in addition to the dispatcher.

Are they doing that temp you think or is it permanent?

Simulcasting on 151.115 & TG 1053 is permanent, DCSO Dispatch has both the DTR & VHF channels patched. On select Wednesdays every month the fire units use the VHF channel for their radio traffic to keep their skills up. Coverage is bad in many areas of the county so they quickly go back to DTR.

Their VHF system has multiple repeater sites which use either the 127.3 or 146.2 tones which is what you are experiencing now. Since there are no other agencies in the area on this frequency turn off the PL on your radio and you won't miss anything sent to the DCFIRE VHF channel.

So I totally understand. (I use multiple software to program) I will use a Frequency of 151.115 the" Mod" will be set to auto(default), "Squelch Mode" CTCSS , in "Squelch Code" I should delete 127.3 and when I do this the default is "Search" is this the correct setting in Win500. I am using a Pro-106 and a 2096 at home.

Im just using the regular FM Main Dispatch frequency. Not VHF. Just the plain 151.115 and my fm scanner doesnt have PL.

What you are experiencing is not a technical problem if you're listening to the VHF frequency. Having only dispatch transmissions on that frequency is how they intend for it to work so that VHF fire pagers can still be used. Consider it normal operation. If you want to hear both sides, you will need a digital trunking scanner programmed with that talk group.

scanlist, nevermind.

I have this set up with both pl's 127.3 and 146.2. I also have it set up with no pl tone in win500 "squelch code" is set to search, like scanlist stated in the other post. I get both sides of the transmission when I have no pl set as scanlist stated all of the transmissions east of Founders Village seem to use a pl of 146.2 and the calls in Founders and to the west seem to use 127.3 this is recorded and logged in Win500. I don't know where the east repeater is but I know the west repeater is set up on 5th street.
I have another thing I have found and that is Elizabeth is using what is listed as Elizabeth FG-3 as PD main.
