From the Plainsman Herald In Springfield Colorado Nov 24 2005.

"Construction work - Occuring at Mt. Carmel's Communications tower. There are two communications sites that are being upgraded within the county. The two sites are at the Alltel tower South of Springfield and at the Mt. Carmel tower site southeast of Campo. A new tower is being constructed at Mt. Carmel While just additional equipment is being added to the Alltel Site. The money to complete this communications upgrade for first responders is through DOLA. Baca County received $768,643 to complete this progect."

These two sites will be on the DTRS statewide system. The alltel tower is going to be used to raise the antenna of the current DTRS Repeaters at the Springfield tower. The DTRS is currently on only a 90 foot tower and after it is moved to the alltel tower is will be somewhere near 300 I beleive. The Mt. Carmel tower is to be 190 feet I beleive and is a new site to the state system the frequencies are registered to the County and the County will be responsible for the upkeep and repairs. the site is going to be part of the State DTRS. The frequencies for the Mt. Carmel site have not been accepted by the FCC but as of now they are: 866.6125, 867.4625, 867.800, 868.3875, 868.9875.
