Question Weld FG - recycled TGID's

Has anybody managed to catch Weld FG 17 or 18 TGID's yet? There was something going on earlier possibly a grass fire near Eaton??-- anyway, they moved to FG18 but I didnt get a chance to track the TG down.

The wildland fire was near Galeton at WCR 61 and WCR 78, Galeton, Briggsdale, and Kersey responded.
I heard them say go to FG-18, but I have not found that Talkgroup yet.
Alot of the traffic was on Wintag 1.

FWIW the first unit on scene estimated the fire at 15 to 20 acres, when it was extinguished it was at 200 acres!

Still searching for Weld CO Fireground Talkgroups 17 & 18.

73, Rex

In my logs I see recent activity on TG 1942,1943 with probable Weld fire ID's. I'd focus on those.

I'll keep my ears open if I hear a call going to those talkgroups.

I'd definitely `vote?' for 1942, 1943, and *possibly* also 1940 as possible `suspects' I've been hearing a lot of recent `Fireground' type chatter on all of those 3. (I've got them `tagged' for both SO and FD in my 800 and have also gotten hits on them on my 600 where I've only got them setup for SO/LPD.

The way things went last year `firewise' and appear to be going this year I'm not at all surprised that they are switching a lot of the `lesser used?' TACs over to FGs. Looks like I'm going to be `re-programing' a bunch of radios over the next few weeks/months. {WAN GRIN!}

Right now they are in a transition adding the additional firegrounds. In the process dispatch has been patching these higher number firegrounds for units that have not had their radios reprogrammed.

I would look at all the unused Law Tac groups and other undefineds and watch for activity with pro96com or unitrunker.

Also add to this a brand new tower site went up in the last 48 hours at the Weld County Southwest Sub station (N.N.E. of I-25 and state highway 119) and already has antennas and microwave dishes on it. You cant't miss it. Looks like a new site may possibly be lit up soon.

We have started using Wintag1 and Wintag2 out here in the far NE side of Weld .... I would start programming them in as FG TG as well cause as soon as we get our radios reprogrammed they will be FG TG but unclear at what # the FG will be and as well we will have a OPS TG programmed in for M/A with Morgan Cty and Logan Cty cause for some reason someone thinks that using a M/A TG and patching it in doesnt work dunno one of those thing why fix it if it isnt broken..

*If* they were going to `take' WINTAGS I could see the `taking' 5, 6 & 7 rather than 1 & 2. Sort like they *appear?* to be `taking' the WLPD TACs where they've `taken' WLPD TAC 2 and *might* possibly `take' WLPD TACs 3&4 eventually for FGs. ('Course... {WAN GRIN!} Sometimes one wonders just what they might be `thinking?' now and then.)

Yah when they first started the switching around they had us going to Mac6 ... then it was WINTAG 1 and now we are on WINTAG2 .. Now I dunno if its cause we are a small dept that doesnt have the CR count as some of the other dept closer to the front range but it sure makes thing interesting and I believe that we have WINTAG1&2 shared with Grover and Brigsdale ... Will find out more when they program our radios
