Default Colorado Springs PD using rarely used TGs busy tonight

I just got home but I've been hearing CSPD use a couple talk groups that they rarely use. Sounds like they just finished checking a lot of addresses for a suspect and finally found him. They said his victim was a woman and they need to interview her again, so it doesn't sound like he was wanted for any of the recent homicides.

They said they are finished using these talk groups and are taking the suspect back to the Police Operations Center (POC). But they used both of these TGs extensively this evening until a few minutes ago.

TG-4587 Listed in RR as CSPD Central-1 (they VERY rarely use this one)
TG-4589 Listed in RR as CSPD Tactical-1 but both dispatcher and units have been calling it "TEU-1" (meaning Tactical Enforcement Unit - their version of SWAT)

TEU-1 is usually encrypted but tonight they were not, probably because they were using patrols to help with the operation.

So if anyone hears a unit say they are switching to TEU-1, that's TG-4589.

Also, when they ask the dispatcher if "16" is up, they are referring to "CityWide" TG-4600. This is the TG they run names over and request tows. 16 sounds like the radio position that CityWide can be found on. Some say "CityWide" and others say "16".

4589 TEU-1 - not encrypted last night and also heard them not encrypted all day on 11/2/2012. I do see the scanner stop on that TG on occasion and it displays ENC.

4592 Vice - I hear them in the clear all the time but they are careful not to say too much about location info. If they go encrypted, I haven't noticed.

Today CSPD CENT-2 (TG-4588) is in use by SWAT/TEU, traffic units, and others for training scenarios.

The latest scenario ongoing is about an Iranian male that robbed a Papa Murphy's pizza place with a gun and they followed the vehicle to a location where they are all set up.

CSPD "Metro TAC" (4602) and "TEU-2" (TAC-2 in RR) were busy today as well but they were encrypted most of the time.
