Default New Site Behind Weld's SW Sub Station?

Has anyone managed to find out any more about this new site? I've been running PRO96COM and using my assorted scanner's Spectrum Sweeper feature and, so far, I haven't had any luck.

Since it is almost in my `backyard' I am kinda interested in finding out pretty much anything about it other than just seeing it every time I drive by. {WAN GRIN!} I *do* realize that it takes a bit of time to get things like this up and going but, I'm hoping that someone might be able to dig up some sort of info on it.

I'm out of range to help with the search but I'd expect that if that is a tower on the DTRS it would show up as a neighbor to Mead. So watching Pro96com is a good basic step.

This website reports towers both existing and future by location and if you dig deep enough by frequency. I've found it really interesting to see what's around me. Perhaps this will have the exact info.
(I don't have time to run the search myself right now)

AntennaSearch - Search for Cell Towers, Cell Reception, Hidden Antennas and more.

Default Weld 800 MHz Simulcast Site

I remember hearing somewhere that Weld County is in the process of building a 800 MHz simulcast site.

The application for the 800 simulcast system is still pending in the ULS:

ULS Application - PubSafty/SpecEmer/PubSaftyNtlPlan,806-817/851-862MHz,Trunked - 0005556908 - WELD, COUNTY OF - Locations Summary

In it's current filing the sites involved are 35TH, O Street and a new site at the water tower at WCR 21 & WCR 56 SouthWest of Greeley. Coverage would be targeting the Greeley, Windsor and Johnstown area.

I'm under the impression that the Weld SouthWest substation Tower is intended for their conventional frequencies such as 153.785 now known as Fire South for VHF paging.

Their conventional transmitters and repeaters have been on the old KDHT/KTCL broadcast tower West of Dacono for years. It would make sense if they are moving them over to their own tower.

I was wondering why they would be putting up another site this close to me. (If it was going to be a simulcast site it would have been a little less of a `wonderment' but, even then it really wasn't making much sense.)

Hmmmmm... Since they still use the the paging freqs I suspect that having their own tower and equipment under their control without also paying rental it kinda makes sense. (I wonder if they might also be thinking of garnering some rental income sometime?)

I need to correct myself the broadcast tower is East of Dacono.

The New tower at the Southwest substation looks like it would provide better coverage towards Boulder County for paging Mountain View stations. 153.785's signal has always been marginal to weak in central Boulder County.

They put up a tower just like it on their fuel site north of the south east sub off CR31 in between CR 16 and 18.

Hmmmm... I wonder if they are going `hang' anything else, other than the pagers, off of those towers? Since I'm probably going to be going into Longmont in the next few days to get a new battery for one of our vehicles I guess I'll throw a camera or two with some assorted lenses and knock off a few pics from several angles. {GRIN!}
