Default DPD's MDC

What exactly does DPD use their MDC's for? Does DPD's CAD not allow for call dispatch, self dispatch and those types of functions.

As I listen to DPD disptach, they continue to air every single call it seems which leads me to believe that they do not dispatch through the MDC.

Does anyone have more knowledge on their system?

Their CAD is TriTech's VisiCAD and it does allow for call dispatch and other types of functions. However, they don't do a silent dispatch and just send a call to their MDC and hope they get it. I would imagine that there is a lot more information on the calls in the call notes that they can see on their MDCs that you don't hear over the air, at least for routine calls.

Most officers will read the CAD for the calls but dispatch still airs them for the tape in most cases.
