If the weather gets good enough for copters to start flying I would start with
The frequency of 123.025 am it is a very common rotary wing air to air freq used throughout
front range. Also try 123.05 am.
These freqs are used by medevac and news copters to give position and intentions to each
other.

Don't forget 123.075 MHz as well. Also very popular with the helicopters...

I just heard them say they were working on 123.12 but when I put them in it comes out 123.116666. So are we not able to pick this freq. up?

Air-to-Air Flood Frequencies

Helicopters are having a hard time getting into the area today due to low ceilings, rain, and clouds all the way to the ground in some areas. The ones I am monitoring are using military frequencies. The have just called to RTB. I presume they came out of Buckley.

Regarding the event frequencies, the federals teams have instituted their own radio systems using primarily VTAC channels. They.ve airlifted their own repeaters to various mountaintops. This frequency system is dynamic and changes hourly.

They have also intituted a system identical to the one they use in fighting forest fires. They have an Air Attack twin engine aircraft (Beech King Air, etc) flying the CAP at 10,000 feet. The Boulder County frequency yesterday for him was 123.125 and his counterpart over Larimer County was on 123.975.

The FM frequencies for these two locations for Air-to-Ground coordination was 166.85 for Boulder and 166.9125 for Larimer County.

I have not heard any activity yet on the event air frequenices as not aircraft have arrived yet.

Have been hearing some air to air helicopter traffic (NG or regular Army) at 308.100 mhz. Obviously involved in rescues around Lyons and Estes Park.

Sounds like the copters are staging out of Chrisman Airport in Ft Collins for runs up and around Big Thompson canyon. Air to ground at 169.200 and 119.650.

Christman field is a private airstrip, north of Horse Tooth reservoir. It is being controlled by Larimer airtac.

123.125 is being used for the Fort Collins Interagency Dispatch Center if access is needed into the TFR area.
