The fire chief was talking about various outside fire agencies not being able to communicate on MAC 10, including Wheatridge and South Adams, but he didn't explain why. Anyone have any idea what the problem was? Did the fire cause problems with DTR tower sites near the fireground(s), or does DTR not even cover the fireground(s) associated with the Black Forest Fire events?
It is possible the El Paso County DTR sites are configured to require Radio ID's to be pre-programmed before allowing access, and the site administrators didn't previously program Subscriber ID's for every agency that responded during the events in question?
The fire Chief also talked about a new VHF repeater getting knocked out by the fire, so that must have been a nightmare.
