As per Pro96Com the CC's currently listed for Adams Simulcast in the RR database, are now associated with System ID 5AB, WACN BEE00, Site 522, Call Sign ADCOM.

Two neighboring sites are listed with System ID 5AB, namely Site 536 (853.37500, Ch. 00-0379) and Site 551 (772.16875, Ch. 01-1625). No audio heard yet, and no TG's appear in the Pro96Com affiliation list or Channel Grant screen.

Looks like they may have been testing. Showing D1C for the Adams simulcast CC at the time of this post. Same for Nunn up here.

Noted that Nate's logging corresponds with the last two digits of the DTRS Zone 3 sites with ties to ADCOM and Weld.. i.e. Site 522 Same as DTRS 322 Adams Simulcast. Site 536 Same as DTRS 336 Nunn. Site 551 same as DTRS site 351 Hoyt.

Basically reassigning the sites as Zone 5 with a new sysID from this first appearance.

As of right now (7:54 PM) my 396XT is showing the new sysID, WACN and Site 05-22 posted earlier this morning. I've also checked a few times throughout the day and I haven't seen it change back to the DTR D1C. I'm virtually certain I'm using the current CC channels listed in RR, not sure why we would be seeing different things here. Are they randomly switching between systems for the testing??

With the log post that helps greatly. Hearing the 772.74375 5AB CC with a fair signal up here.

The commonly known DTRS CC 772.99375 is still showing D1C.

Interesting to see slots 1 and 2 for 900 MHz in the band plan for that site. I wonder if that's a typo or intentional...

So, the new System ID is coming from 772.74375. I just locked out 772.74375 from my DTR Adams Simulcast Site, and I'm now getting the "normal" DTR Talkgroup traffic on the primary CC (772.99375). Obviously my scanner was treating 772.74375 as the "primary" CC for whatever reason.

Yeah, your scanner doesn't know the difference between systems, it just picks up the first CC it finds and sits on it until it can't hear that CC and goes into scan mode.

Anyway, started the system in the database here:

Feel free to submit info as you see/hear it!

So, it sounds like I only have two options to ensure I will pick up ALL (i.e. phase 2 TDMA) Talk Groups on the FRCC system:
1. Buy a PSR 800.
2. Buy a APX 7000 and somehow flash my own custom firmware/System Key.

It sounds like I will have to plan on getting a PSR 800. Although, how many users with existing DTR-capable radios will be capable of switching to Phase II TDMA, without buying new radios? Are agencies planning to trash XTS 5000's and buy newer units just for the TDMA capability??

Does Adams really have full coverage with the sites they own? Like when they are out by Bennett.

And if they take that site, won't the state have big issues? I still don't understand the whole I'm taking my ball and playing with someone else concept.

I would suspect that's a typo. I looked around on both Moto's and Harris' websites, neither one of them currently offers a radio that supports both 700 MHz and 900 MHz in the same package. I found only one radio that supports 900 MHz P25T, it doesn't support 700mhz, and its discontinued already.

Maybe Adams and Weld Sheriff might have the financial resources to do this right off the bat, but individual cities, Fed Heights, Commerce City, Thornton, etc. may not. In addition to all of those little rural volunteer FD's spread around both counties, no way are they going to have the cash to go out and purchase a bunch of brand spankin' new APX's. Are'nt the new Phase II systems designed to "backwards compatible" with Phase I specifically for this situation?

Yes, the system release they are running supports dynamic dual-mode which will allow the system to automatically switch a talk group between phase 1 and phase 2 mode based on what radios are using the talk group. This will allow them to make a smooth transition between those modes over time.

I'm inclined to day the same, but a user on 900 could leverage the core infrastructure for separate sites and consoles. Guess we'll have to wait and see if those IDEN sets stay or go.

Considering Douglas County is also slated to move to FRCC, anyone picking up any sites in the Douglas County area with a system ID of 5AB?

I wouldn't expect to see Douglas go that quickly...

Saw TG 23 on the simulcast this evening, so with luck they will keep the same talk group assignments and make it easy! :)

Using the Pro96com coming the last hour and this is what I'm seeing also two tg's have show up TG 17 and 20. My decode rate is only 40% sometimes less.
