ARAPAHOE COUNTY - Several residents of two apartment complexes were forced from their homes Sunday by separate fires.
The Red Cross helped the displaced residents find shelter.
Firefighters first tangled with a three-alarm blaze near East Arapahoe and South Holly on South Glencoe Street in Arapahoe County. The fire was reported in the building's stairwell around 5 p.m.
Two people received minor injuries in the fire and up to 70 were forced from their apartments.
Some of the same firefighters were later called to a fire in a building on the 7500 block of East Peakview. The call came in at 10:46 p.m., officials said.
The two-alarm blaze destroyed one apartment and damaged 11 others at the Stratford Station apartments.
Residents affected by the first fire may not be able to return home until Tuesday.
