Tyco International Ltd. is closely examining a breakup of the $60 billion conglomerate pieced together by former chief executive Dennis Kozlowski, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday. Tyco would spin off its electronics and health-care businesses. Tyco's board is likely to meet this week to further consider the breakup.

M/A-Com and LVMPD

Another sale for M/A-Com. Perhaps the last big one for Tyco.

The Las Vegas police department's Fiscal Affairs Committee on Monday (1/9) unanimously approved awarding a $8.9 million contract to M/A COM Inc. for a new radio system.

The awarding of the contract had been postponed last month after Motorola representatives challenged the scoring process used to select Virginia-based M/A COM.
