None of the scanners on the market will track 700mhz CC's. I believe that you can recieve them in conventional (non-trunking) mode.

None of the 700Mhz are truly control channels they are just extra freqs on the site, so does not effect your scanning unless you want to listen to Cherry Creek School Buses that is.

Except for the 396T.

No need to buy a 396 scanner for Colorado yet. The current BC296/796 PRO-96/2096 scanners still cover it all right now. As Jim mentioned all DTRS sites have 800 MHz control channels with the 700 MHz voice channel freqs as add-ons. All public safety communications are on the 800 side only.

Only Cherry Creek School buses on the Smoky Hill and Greenwood sites use the 700 add-ons and Auraria College Security on the small footprint Downtown Denver sites. Both entities are heard on the Lookout Mountain 800 only site full time anyway.

Phil.

So, can you monitor 100% of Auroria with a Pro 96?

Actually there are two sites that are 700 Mhz only sites (control and voice)

Auraria 765.45625 CC
Capitol 765.46875 CC

I just told 'Porky' a good joke :)

Working downtown most of the time, I would really want to monitor Auroria & the Capitol CSP. I have seen the Capitol CSP on bikes riding on the mall etc. (summertime).

True but no one is affliating with the Capital and Aururia 700Mhz sites. Jerry CSP officers at the Capital are on regular 800Mhz DTRS and they also have DPD Dist 6 Edacs as well.

Don't believe those are capital officers riding the mall, how about DPD Post officers?

Jim / Thanks for that 700 info. 100% sure they were CSP on the bikes last Summer. I actually saw them talking to a couple of Denver Mall bikes.

Auraria and CSP capitol show up on Glendale and Lookout all the time.

I get the impression people would probably shell out another $550 for a new radio if the guy cleaning the toilets was the only thing on 700 MHz right now. :p

You have to open up the "extended frequencies" in the scanner. I believe the only way to do that is using the "Win96" program. Then you can listen to the 700's in conventional mode. As stated above however, kind of a waste of time, and with a Pro96/2096, no TG's to follow.

"Same can be said for the Pro 96"

As mentioned above, the Pro96 does not track 700MHz systems...

True statement except, of course, that is not what was being discussed.

I find that putting the 700 channels in the PRO-96 conventionally for the downtown sites works alright. Since traffic is so limited (most of the time just CSP 9B and Auraria PD) you can get by fairly well.

PS - Here are all the channels, one will be the CC
