As of 09:15 today Byers Fire Rescue has transitioned from Arapahoe County Sheriff dispatch to MetCom. They have a new tone and are being dispatched on "EM Dispatch." Two new talkgroups, EM Ops 4 and EM Ops 5 have been added to the system.

With the transition Byers has changed their station and unit designators from 701 and 702 to 71 and 72.

So they're toning out now? Didn't they used to page and then only go enroute on the DTRS? Are they on metro area sites or only the eastern ones?

EM Dispatch and the EM Ops seems to show up a moderate amount on sites like Smokey Hill, Thorodin, and Lookout. It's not entirely guaranteed around the clock, but it's not too bad.

Eric, do you happen to know if they are keeping their old talkgroup?

Byers used to be dispatched on their DTR Talkgroup by Arapahoe County using a console alert tone. The Volunteers would keep their radios on 24/7 and monitor for a call. That talkgroup is being kept by Arapahoe County and Byers will no longer be using it. A new two-tone sound was created similar to Bennett and Sable on EM Dispatch, when it gets transmitted so do individual radio pages.

I don't know the TGID's for EM Ops 4 and EM Ops 5. EM Ops 1 - 3 will be assigned numerically first for incidents.
