DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. -- A house fire spread and became a quickly-growing wildland fire in southeastern Douglas County Tuesday morning.

The blaze was reported about a mile east of Highway 83, on the Douglas-El Paso county line at about 9:15 a.m.

A fire chief on the scene reported the blaze was five acres and growing, Mountain News Net reported. Highway 83 was closed at Jones Road, they said.

7News has a crew en route to the fire.

The area is under a Red Flag Warning, which means conditions are such that fires can spread rapidly, due to low humidities and high winds.

DougCo U/D: 2-3 mile radius reverse 911 underway this is for standby to evac, not evac yet. EOC opened and OEM 1 now onscene at the command post. Pueblo dispatch advising if media helos don't clear the SEAT can not operate.

Add 172.475, 168.65 and 126.025 for air support.

DougCo U/D: SEAT has been cancelled no more drops needed, fire is around 50 acres pretty good containment and lines have been established.
