The other day I passed by the Transportation Test Center located east of Pueblo. The RR data base shows a number of frequencies in use at the Test Center that have NXDN modulation. My new scanner, a Whistler TRX-2, was able to decode the NXDN traffic so I could understand it. I only heard parts of conversations which made me wonder if their radio system is a trunked VHF system.

Anyone have any information about their system? The RR data base doesn't indicate it is trunked. Any ideas?

It is definitely a trunked NXDN system. I attended a Hazmat class there last year and had hands on with their portable radios. They showed a 2 site system in the config we were using although I don't remember the brand at the moment.
