I have been working in conjunction with mpg0515 to correctly name Larimer County information in an effort to clean up and clarify the County section of the Larimer County database. I would like to submit the following changes to the data listed:
Information will be presented in the following manner: RX freq [PL/DPL] - Channel number then name - Description.

155.670 [156 DPL] - F-1 LCSO 1 - Sheriff Channel 1
155.130 [156.7] - F-2 LCSO 2 - Sheriff Channel 2 (Primary Dispatch)
155.565 [156.7] - F-3 LCSO 3 - Sheriff Channel 3 (Clearances)
154.385 [156.7] - F-4 FIRE NET - Sheriff Fire Net
158.835 [156.7] - F-5 LCSO TAC 1 - Sheriff Tactical 1
155.835 [156 DPL] - F-6 LCDC - Larimer County Detention Center
155.475 [CSQ] - F-7 NLEEC - National Law Enforcement Emergency Channel
159.450 [156.7] - LCSO TAC 2 - Sheriff Tactical 2
154.115 [156.7] - PARKS 1 - Parks & Open Lands Channel 1
151.250 [156.7] - PARKS 2 - Parks & Open Lands Channel 2 (Tactical)
155.265 [151.4] - SAR 1 - Search & Rescue Channel 1 (Repeater)
155.205 [156.7] - SAR 2 - Search & Rescue Channel 2 (Simplex)
155.160 [CSQ] - MRA - Mountain Rescue Association
155.340 [156.7] - EMS NORTH - PVH EMS North/HEAR

The channel names and numbers (where present) are all confirmed.

I would also like to propse that the information in the "Larimer, County of" category be disambiguated in such a manner that it can be viewed more effectively. For example, the above information would fall under the category "Larimer County Sheriff's Office", since they are all channels used and accessed by the SO. The Fire tacticals & firegrounds could fall under their own category such as "Larimer County Fire Districts". Similarily, the Road & Bridge frequencies could be placed under "Larimer County Road & Bridge". The DOW and state parks frequencies could be placed under "Colorado Department of Natural Resources" or "State Parks & Wildlife". The USFS and NPS information has already been submitted and reside in their own section called "Federal Government", although not under the Larimer County database. These are all just proposed ideas that I feel would make the information more easily viewed and found.

I will not submit any of the information untill I get feedback from the group indicating that the information is of the quality that it may be posted. If anyone sees any data that is incorrect or missing please report it in this thread. Feedback for the disambiguation idea will also be appreciated.

Thanks alot guys,
Mike

I have to add that I have heard LCSO talk on to the state DTRS before. The LSCO officer reported to Loveland fire dispatch of a fire. So this must be a separate frequency VHF input to LCSO headquarters and sent back to the repeater. This is how I think its done . Possibly a microwave link to a DTRS repeater from LCSO.

Perhaps they use F-4

158.835 has also been used for search & Rescue. Some LCSO units marked & unmarked cars have low profile 800MHZ pancake antennas on them mounted on the front roof, really the only time I have heard the LCSO cars on DTRS is during major Medical, accident,or SWAT incidents

Larimer county (to my knowledge) does not have direct DTRS access. If you have heard them on the DTRS it was probably a patch or more likely a borrowed portable. They have used DTRS on MAC channels before for large operations, but the portables used were not theirs. The little "disc" antennas are probably for MDT's or a AVL system. 158.835 is called TAC-1. It is, for the most part used for the sheriff units, but on occasion is used as a tac for fire and rescue personnel.

AVL????

So the question I guess now would be. What frequency/s do they use as a patch through to DTRS? Tac-1 ???

I know they don't have direct access to DTRS. Reread waht I said above.

Dispatch probably has the capability to patch almost whatever channel they want to the DTRS system.

AVL stands for Automated Vehicle Location.

Chris is probably right, if 900 was to patch to the DTRS, they could pick whichever of their VHF frequencies they wanted to use. I have never heard 900 patch into the system though so I cant honestly say.

Chances are the LCSO officer contacted Loveland Fire on their 154.010 VHF channel which is patched full time to their Talkgroup 2. Same goes for all the area VHF fire agencies in the county for mutual aid to Loveland. FERN 154.280 has been patched by Loveland (200) dispatch in the past as well.

Unless they took all the VHF radios out of the 3C CSP cars state has the primary LCSO VHF channels.

Phil.

This is possible. I wasn't sure if 154.010 was capable of input to DTRS. Even though I do listen to 154.010 if there is a lot of activity and need to hear more then one channel. I've noticed that some of the traffic that is repeated through former fire dispatch 1 is cut.

This makes sense now. I recall the dispatcher had a patch setup before but was a talk group to another.

Good call with the loveland fire bit. I never thought of that. Fire Net is used to dispatch and coordinate responses to wildfires, search & rescue events, ect. LCSO TAC-1 (Fire TAC) is used primarily by LCSO units for car-car traffic, but on occasion it is used by other emergency services as a tactical.

I have prepared the submission, if anyone has anything to add or if any of the other sections in the DB need updating please let me know.

Thanks, I just wasn't sure if they ever did any fire department paging from that channel.

I have never heard any paging on 154.385. I think that it is used for dispatch of the rural FPD's though. Since its simplex, it is difficult to hear what exactly is occuring sometimes.

Have hear LCSO on north east net TG 3998 talking with CSP. also have heard lcso patch through freqs with DEA Freqs. Craig
