Default Need Help With PAFB (New) system

Good morning all,

I seem to have a delima, and need some local monitoring help. I know that the Security Froces have gone encrypted. AF regs and such, but I am trying to figure out what is going on with the FD. To me it looks like the dispatch side of the conversations are encrypted, but I can still hear the trucks and HT's. The TG's in question are 40016 and 40017. I am using a PRO-96, I have used the stock antenna, the RS multiband Mag Mount, the RS 800, and a Maxon 800 Mag Mount with the same results. I have a 2096 in the house using the RS 800 antenna, no external,(can't get the wife to let me bore a hole in the house for the coax ) same results. Anyway, I am looking for some one else using a different radio to see if they can decode the dispatch side.

TIA,

Steve

Default Much of the FD traffic is encrypted too

From listening, I'd guess somewhere from %70 to %80 of all traffic on this system is now encrypted. That includes most of the FD radios. Ocassionally, a SP or FD radio transmits without encryption, and most of the MOC radios remain unencrypted.

On a side note they've added a second tower in the past several weeks (T104) broadcasting with the same SYSID. I think it's still in a testing mode as it's NOT broadcasting Adjacent Site Information for (T101) and traffic is rare. Might be located on Schriever but I'm not sure.

(T104)
408.3625 (Primary CC))
409.2750 (Secondary CC)

You are porbably right on the T104. I haven't programmed it in yet. will try and listen after I get back from Hunting.

What radio are you using to Moniotor with? I was hoping I was wrong on the encryption on the FD radios.

Default Monitor with Pro-2096

I monitor with a Pro-2096. Encrypted transmissions can be confirmed by monitoring the control channel with PRO96COM. Talkgroup 40016 is assigned to FD and here is an example of the grant log.
