Forthose of you who don't know, the repeater on 446.626 is carrying the audio communications of the shuttle and space station as they dock, along with NASA commentary. It is really quite interesting stuff. Adkad

446.625 is actually a fixed site linking frequency for the Colorado Repeater Association.

You really want to listen to 147.225 or 224.980 which are simulcast and wide coverage.

When Denver opened the new 16,000' x 200' runway (16R/34L) in Fall of '03, it was something like the 6th alternate I believe. It would have to be an extreme emergency for them to have to go through to the 6th alternate, but we're still on the list as far as I know.

Here's the list of approved Shuttle landing sites... I'm sure if it was dropping out of the sky over Colorado they would try for Denver, but otherwise I don't think it's of interest to NASA ;> This is from the "Flight Maps and Charts" manual flown onboard, revised in 2003.
