NOT in Alaska, damnit!
'Twas the night before Christmas
And through all the scanners,
I hear our heroes and protectors... doing their duties,
And in a quite normal type of manner.

Sand needed on 52nd.
A fire alarm downtown.
DIA recovering nicely.
Some drunk in Lonetree, acting like a clown.

Domestic disturbance in Wheatridge.
A drunk driver report for CSP.
Paramedics in Aurora rushing to a person,
who's finding it a little hard just to breathe.

Boulder just toned out a rollover.
Littleton rolling on a core.
Even the shooting in the Springs. (Thank God the cop is OK)
I guess there will always be more...

The night before Christmas.
It appears to not have an effect.
Our society dosen't seem to want to give a holiday,
To those that serve and protect.

So I humbly offer my thanks.
THANK YOU ALL for all that you do!
Firefighters, medics, troopers and cops,
All the military here and fighting overseas too!

I wish you could ALL be home tonight,
With your families and your friends.
And please know that your sacrifice is greatly appreciated,
By those of us sleeping soundly, in the warmth of our dens.

Take care. Stay safe. Watch out for the ice.
I hope you're all EOW soon! And, I can't say it enough...
Thank you again for making our Christmas so nice.

Rob
