NOT in Alaska, damnit!
Don't want to mention names or agencies here, but I had the opportunity tonight to chat with many users of new 700 / 800 MHz radios who, and more than one person used the word in seperate settings, HATE them!

To paraphrase:

"Sometimes dispatch is there, sometimes they're not."
"You think you're transmitting while talking, only to find you're not transmitting."
"This is going to get someone killed one of these days."

However, when asked if they'll "grow into it," all generally conceded they really have no choice and will adapt.

Considering the amount of time passing as Aurora wobbles back and forth on Provoice, it might be a long courtship...

Gotta love those multi-site synchronized digital simulcast arrangements.

With all the 700 real estate available the 3 site simulcast system in Adams County makes no sense.

What do we know we're just scanner whackers to the folks running the DTRS show.

Phil.
