Question Csp Conventional Channels

Question for all yall,,,,,,

Im hearing csp traffic on the following freqs 154.7400 Troop 4A , 155.5650 Troop 4A tac. from Berthoud as well as driving metro area, no it does not sound like traffic going to accadamy in golden either.

Im wondering if someother troop is using these freqs in addition to 4A I heard unit 21 yesteray doing speed trap work and such .......................been hearing this for a week or so since I entered the conventional channels into a system.
Ill pay closer attention to any ID's but any ideas??????????????

I hear them occasionally on 154.905 working with Denver Airborne 1 out on the highways clocking speeders. Other than that, I have no idea.

I don't believe 154.7400 is considered a Troop 4A freq. I would have to check my records (I'm going by memory), but I believe that is a CDOT frequency, and the only dealings Troop 4A have with that frequency is they have access to the CDOT Gateway and CDOT Debeque repeaters, although they never use them anymore. 4A's dispatch has the ability to monitor them but I think it's at the bottom of their priority list of stuff to listen to.

4A almost never uses 155.565 anymore (once in a while a dispatcher will simulcast on it), and they occasionally use 154.905 when DTR coverage is poor.

Default CSP frequencies

Unlike the trunked system, the conventional frequencies are reused in different areas.
155.565 is only used by CSP around Grand Junction. On the front range it's a Larimer county Frequency, and in Southwest Colorado it's Bayfield. You'll find other agencies in other states on it also.

Similar for CSP, that used to be a real common one for them at several different districts reused around the state when they wouldn't overlap, and often with a different CTCSS (PL) tone.

Default 154.740

In the pre-DTRS days, I used to hear CSP 2B for Teller Co. on 154.74 110.9 occasionally. As I recall it was when the cars were working in the western part of the county, so the repeater may have been on Badger Mtn.

I thought District 1 cars use to be on 154.740 and District 2 and 3 cars were on 154.770.

Have fun programming in and listening. {GRIN!} I'll have to do a tad bit more searching to see if I still have a list of the various tones used. If I can't find any such list I can probably fire up a couple old radios and extract them from them.

BTW, here are the old CDOT freqs:

151.070 Denver Metro, Douglas, Elbert.
151.085 Denver Metro, Eisenhower Tunnel.
151.265 Colo Springs, Pueblo
159.045 Weld,Larimer,Morgan,Boulder

On 159.045 there are 4 CTCSS tones that divide up the `Northeast' area. 103.5, 114.8, 127.3, & 192.8. The others, in order from top down have 103.5 & 156.7. I do not have any CTCSS tones for 151.265 unfortunately because I am just too danged far North to hear them. On 159.045 *I* have it programmed in 4 times with one CTCSS tone each to help keep the various areas segregated during the really `good' storms. {GRIN!}

It's quite amazing, and interesting what can still be heard on all those `old' freqs. I have actually been considering resurecting one of my older radios and just programming it with all those and a few others just for the `hallibut'. {VB GRIN!}

Just and `Olde Fart's' 2¢. {CHORTLE!}

You should have heard CDOT on 159.045 (CTCSS Tones 103.5, 114.8, 127.3, & 192.8) during this last `little skiff' of snow we got last week or so. {VB GRIN!} Between them, CSP D3, Weld SO, and Weld R&B / PW on the DTRS (And the occasional School District Busses on DTRS, LTR, *and* `olde' conventional freqs, too) one can keep quite `on top' of what it's like out there during the winter. Despite all the hoohaa over the DTRS there is *still* quite a bit out there on `conventional'.

Just an `Olde Fart's' 2¢ worth. {CHORTLE!}
