Default Display Tag Changes

I'm seeing alot of the display tag information in the database being changed to incorrect information, especially for the Larimer County entries. I had always thought the display field was for entering the actual display description from agency radios (the channel name as it appears in the radios display).

I'm putting together a little update to switch the information to its correct values but before I do I wanted to see if there was some new policy or something that changed the meaning of the "display tag" field.

Thanks.

The display tags are no longer reflecting the channel name as it appears on the radio display. The display tag field is now used for the web import into several scanner programs and the spirit of the field is now to use the 12 characters available to best describe the talk group so that what shows up on a scanner's display is easily discernable and descriptive.

You're welcome.

That was a fairly recent change in policy that has taken place since the beginning of the year as the web import feature was finalized. It's still a work in progress with a lot of frequencies to tag. Everything should have a tag on the trunking side and a couple of handfuls of counties to finish in conventional. After that, it's on to the task of adding location data (to just about everything) that can be imported into GPS-enabled scanners via web import.
