This is the second time Saratoga County has approved a new 800 MHz radio system. Maybe they will actually build this one.

You watch! I'll bet you within 6 months the price will change due to "unforeseen" equipment adjustments and "additional" site required - $17.8 million!

They aren't even expecting any parts to be delivered until late in 2010.

All depends how good their RFP was and how well they negotiate.

Wonder if they have a consultant on board?

Man, all of these systems are going Digital within upstate NY. I'm in Colonie and I cant afford a digital scanner, my grandpa has one though. Does this mean Saratoga is going P25?

Yes P25 and last report a simulcast system as they did not want to have hearings with the APA (Adirondak Park Agency) to put the towers where they needed them.

The APA work had already been done, supposedly, under the previous contract with Capital Digitronics. Maybe a Capital Dig person can shed some light on that.
