WATERBURY, Vt. – The Department of Public Safety will use the bulk of nearly $1 million in new federal appropriations to improve radio communications between state police, local law-enforcement agencies and other first responders in the state.

I don't believe that a million dollars is going to do very much to help with interoperability at all. They should use that money to tell towns that they don't need their own individual dispatch centers and to develop regional systems that make sense.
