There are a few states and federal entities that purchase Daniels Electronics repeaters that are designed and built in Canada, and my guess is that it is because they are as good or better than most other repeaters on the market, rather than be childish and 'buy American' for the sake of buying American.

Maybe you should learn a bit about economics. There is no such thing as a "World Economy". There are only local economies which sometimes trade with each other. If there was a world economy then the price of a product would be the same world wide. What is good for my local economy isn't necessarily good for your local economy. You might also consider that Motorola is incorporated in the USofA so all their income is taxed by the USofA. Not necessarily so for foreign companies who can shift their costs to their American devisions and make it appear as if all their profit is generated outside of the USofA. So they pay no tax to us while profiting from our tax money.
You can say it's childish to 'buy American' but it only makes sense to spend, where possible, American tax dollars with American companies.
